Hide and Seek with the Super Moon

Crowds at North Coogee Headland

What is it about the night sky and stars that play with people's imagination? This previous Monday thousands turned out all up and down the Eastern Australian coastline to get a clear view of a moon rise. This was no ordinary moon rise as this time it was a "Super Moon". But what does that mean? In this case, it meant that the moon was about 28,000km closer which makes it appear 17% bigger and 30% brighter.

Now I don't have the gear to shoot the actual moon but with so much publicity in Australia of this Luna event I thought it would be good to put my efforts into capturing what the people who came out to see the moon were up to.
