Coogee Island Challange

When I wake up in the morning and look out the window, I see Wedding Cake Island, one of Coogee's most distinctive landmarks. It even has its own entry on Wikipedia. I find it interesting how some landmarks become ingrained in a place's identity, and Wedding Cake Island certainly is one of them.

On Sunday morning, when I looked out at the island, I saw what looked like over 1,000 people swimming around it. I couldn't swim 200m without drowning, let alone the 2.4km circuit from the beach around the island, so the idea had not even crossed my mind. Instead, I grabbed my cameras and headed to the beach to take some shots.
